Leading Azerbaijani musicians will offer a sample of rich and colorful cultural mosaic from the heart of the ancient Silk Road. Between the graceful, yet dynamic dances of the Caucasus and unique blending of their distinct vision of jazz with the ancient sounds of Mugham, the masters of Azerbaijani music synthesize cultures and build bridges across various traditions using sounds and grace as languages common to all.
It is a rare treat to see the National Dance Ensemble of Azerbaijan perform together with the leading jazz pianist Emil Afrasiab and masters of Mugham. This is their only performance in Los Angeles and we invite you to experience the synergy of Azerbaijan’s traditions of jazz, Mugham and dance.
