Misagh Moradi is a vocal performer of the traditional Iranian music.
She received training under the guidance of Maestro Hamidreza Nourbakhsh for years. Finishing the Persian vocal techniques and advanced Iranian Avaz course in all Dastgahs under supervision of Maestro Hamidreza Nourbakhsh, she is now a MMus Performance student at SOAS.
An outstanding virtuoso on the vocal, Misagh is part of a generation of musicians keen on keeping the tradition alive and building upon it.
Her warm tonal qualities and her exquisite technique to express the captivating art of Persian poetry, with its intense philosophical and spiritual impact.
Amir Koushkani is a performer, composer and instructor of the traditional stringed instruments Tar and Setar.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Western Musical Composition, and a PhD in Ethnomusicology.
Over the last three decades, apart from concentrating on different aspects of Iranian classical music. Dr. Koushkani has composed widely for theatre, orchestra, and various musical ensembles.
He has recently published a two-volume study on the “Persian Avaz” in collaboration with Master Mohammad Reza Shajarian and Professor Robert Simms.
Sirishkumar Manji is an Indian classical tabla maestro, who was introduced to the tabla at the age of seven by his late father and teacher Pandit Bhagwanji Manji who in turn learnt from the great singer Pandit Omkarnath Thakur. Sirishkumar has been performing ever since, working with a range of musical talents and performers, combining Indian classical flavours with modern, classical and world music traditions.
He currently spends his time as a performer, producer, composer and teacher.
