The Kamkars & Docklands Sinfonia with the London Contemporary Voices at the Children of War Charity Concert
To launch a fundraising campaign with Save the Children.
The Kamkars, a large musical family have been creating music together since they were children. Their performances fully explore the music of their homeland, taking in everything from traditional Persian music to Kurdish songs. This concert is a chance to see two sides of the ensemble’s work – from Hooshang Kamkar’s orchestral compositions, fully realised by the Docklands Sinfonia and the London Contemporary Voices, to their entrancing traditional music.
This astonishing concert organised by Global Heritage and Nava Arts, will be one of several events to be organised as part of the campaign ‘HELP TO SUPPORT THE CHILDREN OF WAR’ with the aim of raising £500k by the end of the year.
The Kurdistan Region is home to almost 2 million Syrian refugees and internally displaced Iraqi, with children representing a large number. These children who have suffered greatly deserve to be supported to re-establish their lives and guide them through a bright and prosperous future.
