Mahsa Vahdats music has been strongly influenced by the traditional music from the different parts of Iran. She graduated at the Teheran Arts University in Iran in 1993 and since 1995 she performs all over the worlds, working together with many different artists.
Her singing she learned with some old masters, and most of her songs she composes herself, often with lyrics from great Persian poets like Hafez and Rumi, but also with lyrics from contemporary poets like Mohammad Ibrahim Jafari.
On her last album The Sun Will Rise (2016) Mahsa Vahda excels with her fluent and evocative voice. Songlines magazine called it a “pilgrimage to beauty” and “intensily intimate”. Last June Mahsa Vahdat performed at Holland Festival, together with Kronos Quartet.
