Tribal Fusion Bellydance with World Class Performer and Instructor ONYX.
Onyx of OC's premiere bellydance group "The Jewels That Raq!" is gracing the studio with a fun and challenging tribal fusion bellydance class. This workshop is designed to strengthen posture, engage core muscles, tone and frame arm and leg muscles. It enhances flexibility and over all well-being. Structured around yoga warm ups and relaxation methods, we will build our dance repertoire with intensive drill work, followed by combinations and choreographic work. Students will leave with tools to create their own combinations as well as a choreography that can be used on stage or on the dance floor! This class welcomes all experience levels!
What to bring to class: yoga mat, towel, bellydancing belt/sash or scarf.
Appropriate attire includes: form fitting clothes, so the instructor can assist in technique.
About Onyx
Onyx is performer of OC's premiere bellydance group "The Jewels That Raq!" (known for their spectacular dinner dance shows and special events) and a choreographer for Irvine Valley College. She has been studying the field of Middle Eastern and Tribal dance for 6 years. A former student of bellydancer Angelika Nemeth and tribal fusion dancer Sabrina Fox, Onyx has applied her love of both classic and modern forms and taken it to the next level.
As a teacher she helps her students learn to listen, not just to the rhythm of the beat, but the emotion and drive behind the music with every glitch, bass, and chord. As a dancer, her strengths in tribal fusion bellydancing include pop-locks and controlled fluidity.
