CONTEST RULES AND DETAILS
Who: Everybody (no age limit). Sponsor: Mehregan Festival Orange County
What: A piece of Shahnameh poem to be recited for one minute. The reading can be presented in traditional or contemporary style.
When: September 25&26th, 4 pm.
Where: at the festival, The Hall of Shahnameh.
How: Must enroll via email in cultural@mehregan.org and bring 5 copies of the poem for the judges.
Why: Relevant learning opportunity: To challenge performing story telling with this epic master piece, this has been done for a thousand years in Iran. Winners at the Honorable Mention level 1st through 3rd Place receive certificates of commendation. Winners receive Shahnameh Books and CDs as gifts
