Based on the inspirational real life story of renowned Iranian American race car driver, the heart warming and exciting film is about Ali Jahani (Afshar), facing adversity as a teenager Iranian immigrant in a small California town. Rejected by his classmates but determined to fit in, Ali joins school's floundering wrestling team, develops American-style thick skin, and earns respect of his peers and the community through diligence and determination, traits common to many Iranian Americans and other immigrants.
The film's theme song “Rise” is performed by Iranian American Armenian singer Andy Madadian and features Shani Rigsbee. Oscar-winning actor John Voight (Angelina Jolie's father) as well as William Fichtner, George Kosturos and Ali Afshar star in the film presented by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and Fathom Events.
