I am seeking your vote for the Lake Forest City Council seat in District #2. My goal is to be an independent voice on the council that is not tied to any special interest group. I will vigorously fight to prevent the passage of motions that harm the residents of the city.
• Balanced development is key to the growth of city. Future projects like the development of the Nakase property need to be carefully analyzed and presented to the public for review and comment. I will listen carefully to the comments from the public and weigh all options before making any decisions. Many things need to be taken into consideration, such as, traffic patterns, infra-structure improvements and financial feasibility of the project.
• Traffic issues are a concern to everyone in the community. Many citizens complain about the amount of traffic on city streets. I will support efforts to improve traffic synchronization on El Toro Road, approve traffic signal upgrades that meet established standards, and changes in signage and street markings that improve traffic flow.
• A significant issue is over-crowded parking in public streets that has come up between single family neighborhoods and multi-family complexes. I will diligently look at each proposal for permit parking with a goal of balancing the needs of residents with single-family homes and the families with limited parking in multi-family complexes.
• As a supporter of the Sheriff's department. I plan to work closely with the new sheriff to provide the best police protection possible at an appropriate cost to the city.
• The Saddleback Valley School District has expressed an interest in placing a new school on the Nakase site. There is a demonstrated need for this school and I would work with the school district, the site developer (should the residential plan be approved), city staff and the council to make the new school a reality.
I will bring fresh ideas and perspective to the city council. As an independent person, I am not beholden to any special interest group or individual. My goal is to serve you the people of Lake Forest. I would be honored to have your vote on November 6th.
