The author will provide the you with an inside look into the rising oil prices of 1973, impact of Saudi Arabia and Zaki Yamani's efforts to undermine the Shah and Iran in their own "maneuvers" involving OPEC, the "barter" deal which linked the price of Iranian Oil sold to US companies to the value of arms sold to Iran , recently declassified documents showing the role of Donald Rumsfeld in the "barter" agreement and his hostility towards the Shah and Iran, the general state of NIOC's international affairs division in 1970s and the potential impact of these crucial events on the downfall of the Pahlavi dynasty.
