Dr. Mehdi Noorbaksh, Associate Professor of International Affairs and Coordinator of General Education at Harrisburg University, will speak on the recent election in Iran and its consequences for business in the Middle East.
Dr. Noorbaksh has published extensively on Middle East politics in such journals as the Foreign Policy Association, Middle East Policy Journal and the International Journal of Middle Eastern Studies. He is currently writing a book entitled Islam, Nationalism and Democracy in Iran.
Dr. Noorbaksh earned his Ph.D. in Government and International Affairs from the University of Texas at Austin. He joined the Center for Middle East Studies at Harvard University as a Fellow for his Post-Doctoral studies and Research Scholarship in 1996.
Before joining Harrisburg University of Science and Technology in 2006, Dr. Noorbaksh taught at the Center for International Studies at the University of St. Thomas in Houston
