About the Musicians:
Mahtab Nadalian studied Santoor performance at the Tehran Music Conservatory under the supervision of Maestro Arfa Atraee. Alumna of the college of fine arts at the University of Tehran, Mahtab is currently studying audio recording technology at Houston Community College.
Niloufar Shiri is also a graduate of Tehran Music Conservatory where she studied Kamancheh Performance with Maestro Saeid Farajpouri. She received her Bachelor in composition from UCSD and has been researching on Iranian music with Maestro Hossein Omoumi. Currently, Niloufar is pursuing her PhD in Composition, Improvisation and technology at UC Irvine.
Ali Tarkesh started learning Daf at the age of 10 in his hometown, Isfahan. He was a music faculty of the Isfahan University for over a decade before he moved to the United States. Currently, Ali works at I.S. Engineers as a design engineer and has a bachelors of science from Azad University in Civil Engineering and a degree in Science of Constracution from Universita del Saleno. Ali has performed with several musicians and ensemble and has been teaching Daf and Tombak in Houston, Texas.
Holding a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Houston, Rambod Dargahi is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Southeastern Louisiana University. Having been learning and playing percussion instruments for more than fifteen years, Rambod is particularly interested in Tonbak -an ancient Persian goblet drum. He has performed in several music bands in Iran and the U.S.
Hesam Abedini, studied Piano performance at the Tehran Music Conservatory and Yerevan Conservatory. He received his bachelor in composition from UC San Diego, and since 2017 he has been working on his PhD in music at UC Irvine. He has studied Iranian vocals with Maestro Hossein Omoumi.
