As the city of great composers of chamber music and the birthplace of Felix Mendelssohn and Johannes Brahms, Hamburg will once again become cognizant of its long traditions. Coinciding with the 200th birthday of Mendelssohn and the 200th anniversary of the death of Joseph Haydn, the city is launching a prestigious chamber music competition which will henceforth take place every three years.
