The International Sand Sculpture Festival with a general theme of "Persian Gulf, Peace and Friendship of Nations".
The artists will realize sand sculpture and environmental art projects. Artists wishing to participate are invited to submit their requests and link of their web site. The selection committee will choose applicants based on their previous work experience. Artists selected for this Festival will create their artworks during a 14-day residency in Iran, March 15 – 28 , 2009. The selected artists will receive accommodations from March 15 – 28 , 2009, meals, possibly economy airfare. International traveler can get visa for two weeks in any borders of Iran.
The festival will be held during Noruz holidays (Iranian New Year) in a 50-hectare field. One goal is to promote environmental art and education. Persian Gulf region’s handicrafts and souvenirs will be available during the event.
