Class participants will have the opportunity to perform a choreography learned in class at the Tribal Solstice X Show the same night, Saturday June 18th at 8pm at Cinema Paradiso in Fort Lauderdale.
South Iranian Bandari music and dance, which is common in Iran's southern coastal port cities in the Persian Gulf region, carries heavy influence from a variety of cultures (heavy African and Arabic influence) as a result of trade and exposure with these other cultures in the port cities over time, such as in Bandar Abbas. Bandari dance movements are very rhythmic and quite unlike other traditional dance styles seen in Iran, often either reflecting activities of the region such as boat work and fishing or joyously celebrating the success of these activities.
*Please note performing is optional! You may participate in the workshop and choose not to perform.
