Tirgan is an ancient Persian summer festival. We want to share the joyful mood of day with you and celebrate it by water games, dancing, music, and yummy food !!!
The history of celebrating Tirgan dates back to pre-Zoroastrian times and is celebrated for different reasons. First of all, Tirgan was the day dedicated to “Tir” or “Tishtar”, the God of Rain, and it was celebrated by Iranians to respect the God and pray for a year without drought. Second reason to celebrate Tirgan backs to a great Persian story, “Arash the archer myth”. Arash freed the occupied lands of Persia by devoting his life to it.
