This program at The Musical Offering in Evanston, Illinois, will focus on improvisation on contemporary techniques and patterns of Persian/Iranian classical music that are rooted in the modes of Persian music known as Radif.
Two well-known Persian instruments - Tar (a long necked lute) and Tombak (goblet shaped percussion) - will duet with vocal accompaniment specific to Persian classical styles.
