The second Chicago Nowruz Parade is scheduled to take place on Saturday 26th March 2011 at noon in down town; Starting at 11:30 am at the Daley Plaza, 50 West Washington Street, Chicago IL 60602
“Nowruz” literally means a New Day in Persian Language and in practice the Persian New Year is a Celebration of Life. The United Nations General Assembly recognizes March 21st as International Day of Nowruz; welcoming the inclusion of Nowruz into the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on 30 September 2009.
