In 1976, the artist Andy Warhol, having re-invented himself as the portrait painter of the rich and famous, travels to Tehran to take Polaroids of the Shah of Iran’s wife. Amidst taking in the Crown Jewels and ordering room service caviar, Warhol encounters a young revolutionary who throws his plans into turmoil and opens the pop icon’s eyes to a wider world.

This new drama is a fictional story inspired by Warhol's real trip to Iran.The cast features Rob Lindley, best known for musicals including the national tour of Phantom of the Opera, and Hamid Dehghani, a director, playwright, and actor who was born and raised in Iran and worked professionally in Tehran’s theatre scene for more than 10 years before moving to the United States in 2018 to continue his education. His credits in Iran include Barren (Iran International Fadjr Theatre Festival), Afsooskhar (Khourshid Theatre), and the short film Jade Farei (winner of the best short film at Tehran International Short Film Festival),
Playwright Brent Askari, a Persian-American writer and actor, is the winner of the NNPN Smith Prize for Political Theater for his play The Refugees, which recently received a workshop and reading at Gulfshore Playhouse. He was part of HBO’s New Writers Project and has written screenplays for several companies including Paramount Pictures, Marvel Films, MTV, and Reveille Entertainment.
