Prof. Ahmad Sadri, Professor of Islamic World Studies at Lake Forest College and a Common Ground regular, will speak on the topic, An Iranian Professor’s Story. Last August Ahmad was arrested at the Imam Khomeini airport as he was on his way back to Chicago after a three month stay in Tehran. He was strip searched and put in solitary confinement for eight hours. This was followed by a two-month ordeal at the notorious Evin Prison. Ahmad will share the experience and put it in the context of the present developments after the conclusion of the nuclear negotiations between Iran and P5+1, as well as the immediate future of Iran and the Middle East.
