Persian Gulf Foundation is proud to host Maestro Aydin Aghdashloo in Calgary to have a talk and review the Iranian Contemporary Art and Culture.
Maestro Aghdashloo is a prominent and renowned Iranian artist who has been working for more than 50 years. He is predominantly a painter, but also an author, art historian and consultant, art critic, teacher, illustrator and graphic designer. He has been at the forefront of the artistic and cultural renaissance that began in Iran in the mid-20th century. Many young contemporary painters in Iran have been taught by Aghdashloo and he frequently lectures in different universities in Iran, where he currently lives, and around he world. He has been teaching art and art history since 1981. He is an expert in Iranian pre-Islamic and Islamic art history and artifacts, with several scholarly publications and reviews on this theme. He assesses items for auction houses such as Christie's and Sotheby's. Aghdashloo has published eight books; three articles collections, two paintings collections and two researches in Iranian art history.
