The riverrun Global Film Series aspires to create a dialogue between local community and institutions of higher education in Buffalo through a selection of films that provide a better understanding of our present existence in the globalized networked world.
The inaugural river run Global Film Series 2016 will take place on September 29th-October 1st at the Burchfield Penney Art Center in Buffalo, NY and focus on Iranian Cinema.
Keynote Address: “Rising From the Ashes: Iranian Art House Cinema,”
by Hamid Naficy, Northwestern University's prize-winning scholar of cultural studies and postcolonial cinema and media. Friday, September 30, 7 PM.
Special Guest: Noureddin Zarrinkelk, the father of Iranian animation. Saturday, October 1, 2 PM.
