"Two craftsmen, one of the kamancheh fiddle, the other of the Mandinka kora, enter into a dialogue of virtuosity, from sinuous arabesques to flights of eloquence: from this new exchange moments of ecstasy should emerge." – Télérama
‘One of the world’s most pre-eminent musicians in any genre’, said British newspaper the Observer about the Malinese griot and kora player Toumani Diabaté. Together with three-time Grammy Nominee Kayhan Kalhor, an internationally acclaimed virtuoso on the kemenche, he makes the kora sing on the BOZAR stage as never before. Despite the 6.500 kilometers that separate Teheran and Bamako, Kayhan Kalhor and Toumani Diabaté have a lot in common. They started their solo career at a very young age, they both enjoyed a classical and traditional music training in their country and as musical innovators, they developed a very personal playing style.
