The Boston Festival of Films from Iran has become one of the most extensive showcases of contemporary Iranian cinema in the United States and this year’s 15-film program highlights documentaries, dramas, and comedies by both veteran and new directors. We are also delighted to host two very special guests:
1- Renowned director Majid Majidi, will kick off the festival on Nov 7 with a screening of his latest film "The Song of the Sparrows" on opening night. Majidi will be present to receive the ILEX Foundation Award for Excellence in Iranian Cinema.
2- The ILEX Foundation will also be awarding its first ILEX Award for Lifetime Achievement to Dariush Mehrjui, who will be present for our of his new film Santouri: The Music Man on Nov 14.
All films produced in Iran and in Persian with English subtitles unless otherwise noted. This festival is produced with support from the ILEX Foundation.
