TYE (TiE Young Entrepreneurs), a TiE-Boston initiative, is an award winning entrepreneurship program geared for high schools students who aspire to become entrepreneurs in later life. It involves students to design a business plan and learn the rudiments of what makes a successful business. Teams are paired with seasoned entrepreneurs /mentors for advice and guidance. The teams after several sessions of class room instruction and workshops then present their business plan to a group of judges who pick the best team with the best business idea. The winning team is awarded $10k cash prize.
Since its inception in 2005, over 100 students participated and three teams won a cash prize of $10k each. In 2007 TYE won the TiE Global Award in the unique program implemented by a TiE chapter, category. The program is supported by Microsoft.
