Hosted by UC Berkeley's Iranian Student Alliances in America (ISAA)
The conference aims to address both the accomplishments within the Iranian diaspora and the issues the community is currently facing. It seeks to unite multigenerational scholars, students, and members of the community to discuss the current state, accomplishments, and future of the Iranian diaspora community. Distinguished speakers from around the world will sit on specific panels to discuss their accomplishments and work on their areas of expertise. In addition to providing an open environment for productive and interactive discussions about the diaspora, the conference will also serve as an opportunity to build a stronger network of Iranians across various borders.
The conference is sponsored by PAAIA and IABA and will include speakers from organizations such as NIAC, AIAW, and PAAIA along with scholars from universities around the world.
Iranian Alliances Across Borders will also be hosting a night of entertainment with Fared Shafinury and Tehranosaurus in the San Francisco area on Saturday, April 4, 2009, and then Disco with DJ Aykut.
