Fared Shafinury and Tehranosaurus are sure to offer an unforgettable night with melodic sounds of the setar, santur and the vocal repertoire, known as the radiff, filling every corner of Pauley Ballroom with a modern vision of Persian classical music.
About Fared Shafinury and Tehranosaurus: Fared Shafinury has studied under Iran's most prominent Masters including Mozaffari, Zolghadr, Shaari, Soukut, and Ostad Mohammad Reza Lotfi. At only age 26, Shafinury's music is the progeny of his talent, passion and environments producing a sound that is simultaneously singular in character and universal in appeal. After his forth-coming début full length album, Behind the Seas, and a successful newly-released EP, which features recordings made in Iran and composed for the soundtrack to the award-winning short film Khereft Khooneh, Shafinury has brought together members of world-music staple, Atash, and indie rock innovators, Canopy and Brazos, now playing under the name of Tehranosaurus.
