PLOT
Mehran and Kaveh are two men who leave Iran hoping for a better life. They spend six months in Turkey trying to cross the border to Greece. After being arrested several times, they come up with an idea. They go to the US Embassy and apply for social asylum, pretending to be runaway gay lovers whose lives are in danger because of their sexuality. Their plan is successful and they move to Los Angeles where Mehran’s cousin Simon lives with his roomate, Sasan. Mehran and Kaveh keep the details of their asylum a secret, instead telling people that they ran away simply as protesting students. Simon and Sason introduce the runaways to Gisso and Magon, whom they fall in love with. Soon after, a letter from the Los Angeles Gay Community reveals Mehran and Kaveh’s secret, which is not acceptable in Iranian culture. They are then rejected by everyone around them, including Gisoo and Magon
