For those who don't know, Sizdah-bedar is the day that ends Nowruz celebrations and it marks the beginning of the return to ordinary life. "Sizdah-" means thirteen, and "bedar," means to get rid of.
In Iran, most people spend the day going to parks with friends and family and packing picnics. It's believed that joy and laughter clean the mind from all evil thoughts, and a picnic is usually a festive, happy event.
