Tirgan is a mid summer Iranian festival for those who live in Northern Hemisphere, and winter Iranian festival for those who live in Australia, celebrated annually in Tir (July).
It is performed by splashing water, dancing, reciting poetry, and serving traditional foods such as spinach soup and shole-zard. The custom of tying rainbow-colored bands on wrists, which are worn for ten days and then thrown into a stream, is also a way to rejoice for children. 10th July in school holidays we will gather in Migration museum to celebrate Tirgan. In this free event volunteers of PCASA will perform music, dance, handcrafts and more .You can enjoy Persian cookies as well . We will have a great day with you.
