For the international community a most consequential issue is the recent agreement on a framework for transforming Iran’s nuclear programme through restraints and verification. Further confidence building over the period ahead remains vital which includes the easing of political tensions within the Middle East. With generous support from the EUCN, NZIIA is able to host a contribution by a leading specialist in these critical areas.
Bio:
Dr Rouzbeh Parsi is one of Europe’s leading analysts on Iran, a senior lecturer at Lund University specialising on Iran and the Middle East. Between 2009 and 2013, Dr Parsi worked as senior analyst at the EU Institute for Security Studies in Paris covering Iran, Iraq and the Persian Gulf. Dr Paris is the Director of the European Iran Research Group (EIRG). Dr Parsi is a frequent commentator on Al Jazeera, France 24, Deutsche Welle and more.
