Tuesday, Sept 10, 2013 ,
7:00 PM
- Washington, DC, United States

In conjunction with the Poetic Voices of the Muslim World project, professor of Persian literature, Dr. Farzaneh Milani, explores the work of three great Iranian women poets of the 20th Century -- classical poet Parvin E'tesami, iconoclastic modernist Forugh Farrokhzad and the "Lioness of Iran" Simin Behbahani. Dr. Milani demonstrates how Iranian women have emerged as a moderating, modernizing force at the forefront of the renegotiation of boundaries in their homeland.
