"Shahnameh khani" classes started after a series of lectures by Mr. Saeed Ghaemmaghami - the famous anchorman - whose personal interest in Ferdosi's life and his recitals of the great poet's epic poems on tapes and cassettes had already brought him a great deal of newfound fame.

After the three months was over, some of the people who attended these lectures decided to continue studying this great literary work on their own. Thus "Shahnameh Khani" sessions have been held regularly since 1998.
The aim of these sessions is to facilitate the reading and understanding of the Shahnameh. The Shahnameh is the great literary work of Ferdosi, the master poet, thinker, and humanitarian of the tenth century Iran. The text studied at these sessions is the copy edited by Dr. Djalal Khalegi Motlagh, a renowned life-long scholar of the Shahnameh.
There is no charge for these sessions and anyone interested in the Shahnameh is encouraged to attend.
