The Farima Dance Company performs Bandari, a dance style from the Iranian Persian Gulf, at 1:50pm. Centuries-old trade between Africa and Persia introduced a blend of high-energy folk dance and music known as Bandari. Bandari combines African, Arab, and Persian movements such as hand and shoulder shimmies, hip thrusts, and head tosses, earning it the name “Persian bellydance.”
The Bay Area Belly Dance And Music Association (BABDAMA) Fabulous Fall Festival features a fabulous line-up of featured dancer performances including live music by Pangia. Vendors will be selling middle eastern dance apparel, props, and accessories all day long. Profits of the festival helps benefit the non-profit Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence. BABDAMA is dedicated to the celebration of the arts of Middle Eastern dance.
