On behalf of Harvard University Association of Alumni in Singapore:
Meet the Artist: Golnaz Fathi
by Harvard University Association of Alumni in Singapore

Description: Fathi, a child of the Iranian Revolution, is unique in that she is one of the few women in Iran to excel at traditional Islamic calligraphy, a largely male dominated discipline. Her works incorporate her calligraphic training with color and paint into beautiful canvases of abstract art. A parallel can be drawn to some Chinese artists' modern expression of Chinese ink painting and calligraphy. Tradition evolves, East meets West. Special curated tour and cocktails exhibition preview at Sundaram Tagore gallery of Golnaz Fathi's latest expressionist works, with talk by artist.
