An International Conference on the Transnational and Transgenerational in Central and West Asia and their Diasporas

Welcome to the first conference of its kind in Australia, examining West and Central Asia and their diasporas, with a focus on the transnational and transgenerational. The program brings together a diverse range of distinguished speakers from the academic, community and cultural sectors, including Iran’s eminent filmmaker Pouran Derakhshandeh, multi-award-winning oud virtuoso and composer Joseph Tawadros, celebrated storyteller and human rights advocate Arnold Zable, internationally acclaimed thinkers Ghassan Hage and Hamid Dabashi, Iran’s leading Professor of Literature Farideh Pourgiv, Director of the Multicultural and Migration Research Centre at the University of Sydney Christine Inglis and co-founder of the Yellow House in Sydney and Jalalabad, George Gittoes, to name a few.
