Described by the Huffington Post as “an evolutionary force in contemporary Middle Eastern music,” Niyaz—led by vocalist Azam Ali and multi-instrumentalist Loga Ramin Torkian on oud and kamaan—seamlessly blend medieval Sufi poetry and folk songs from their native Iran with rich acoustic instrumentation and modern electronics.

The result is a distinctively twenty-first-century global trance sound. The band’s much-anticipated fourth album, Fourth Light, is slated to be released this month.
