Sa’adi Shirazi is a prominent figure and a shining star in the Persian literary art. Sa’adi is one of the major Persian poets of the medieval period.

He is not only famous in Persian-speaking countries, but he has also been quoted in western sources. He is recognized for the quality of his writings, and for the depth of his social and moral thoughts.

Written in 1258, his remarkable work, Golestan “The Rose Garden”, remains a source of inspiration for the speakers of the language. Mainly in prose, Golestan contains stories and personal anecdotes. The text is interspersed with a variety of short poems, containing aphorisms, advice, and humorous reflections.

On the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 7:00 p.m., our esteemed colleagues, Dr. Ghasem Bayat and Dr. Ali Soltani review lessons from Golestan with the interested audience. This educational gathering is free of charge and open to the public.
