In ‘A Separation’ (Jodaeiye Nader az Simin) schetst Farhadi een meeslepend echtscheidingsdrama dat ons op subtiele wijze confronteert met de complexe verhoudingen in de Iraanse maatschappij. De film is, net als ‘About Elly’, gesitueerd in de moderne Iraanse middenklasse en toont de worstelingen tussen verschillende sociale klassen, en tussen man en vrouw.

Op 11 augustus wordt de premiere van ‘A Separation’ geheel in Iraanse stijl geopend door Parwin Mirrahimy van het Iraans Filmfestival. Na de film houdt Sahand Sahebdiavni een exclusief nagesprek met de bekroonde regisseur Ashgar Farhadi, gevolgd door een live optreden van Shervin Najafian (bekend van de film ‘Nobody knows about Persian Cats’).
