Keyhan Kalhor is ongetwijfeld één van de meest opwindende Iraanse artiesten van deze tijd. Zijn virtuoze beheersing van de kemance (vedel), emotionele bevlogenheid als componist en innemende podiumverschijning maken hem wereldwijd tot een begrip. Madjid Khaladj excelleert op Perzische percussie-instrumenten, zoals tombak (vaastrommel), daf en dayré (lijsttrommels). Hij improviseert hiermee zowel binnen als buiten het oude Perzische muzieksysteem. Khaladj behoort tot de top van de klassieke Perzische meesters.
